Double Page Spread Step By Step

I used the shape drawing tool to create two large circles as well as using the color tool to fill the shapes making them red and blue to match the continuous color scheme.

I took the image of Leah up against the white background in the green screen room at college. I used the quick selection tool to outline the edge of Leah and cut her out so that i could add her to a plain white background.

I used the text tool to create the text featured in the picture above. I stuck with the color scheme making the main heading blue and the sub heading black. I experimented with different fonts and decided which ones i liked the most keeping the same fonts again throughout my coursework.

When i first cut Leah out with the quick selection tool it took off a piece of her arm that i wanted to keep. I used the blur tool to bled in the skin on her arm that was already there. When i took the image that i decided to use for my double page spread Leah had a hair bobble around her wrist. I decided that i didn't want this in the picture therefore i used a copy and paste tool to copy the color of her skin and the paint tool to go over her arm and replace the color on her arm. The picture above is the before and after effects of using these tools.

I saved the final product as an image from Photoshop and added it as a background to publisher to add the final text. Using Microsoft publisher it made it easy to create a drop cap as well columns. It also allowed me to add a pull quote in the middle of the text sticking to conventional existing magazine ideas.

I put a page number and the charts website address in the bottom right hand corner of the double page spread. I used the color black to make it stand out and be plain and simple. The website address is on every page that i have created for recognition of the magazine.
